I have an 09 Coupe and have been trying different methods of launching the car. I have tried TC off and competitive drive mode on with the paddle shifters. I always seem to run into the rev limiters, my bad. I tried it the other day the same way but did not put it into paddle mode. The car still hit the rev limiter but not bad though. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Is your car stock??
what mods??
Most A6 guys into Comp Driving mode and put it in Sport mode, and let the trans do the work.
If you've changed the tires or rear, the tcm will also need to be changed.

You need to let the tranny do its own thing. Turn the TC off if you have d/r's if you are on runcraps you may need to leave it on as the traction on them stinks and they are going to slip even if they are warm.

Let the trans shift by itself with the TC off. Run 25 PSI in the rears and go through the water box and do a good burn out. Leave at an idle.
If the rears spin lower the air pressure to 24 PSI the low air pressure warning light should go off when you heat them up, leave at an idle.
If you did not spin them at 25 PSI try leaving by taking the slack out of the converter when you leave.
On a sticky track you should be able to load up the converter a bit before hitting the gas wide open on the start. If the track is not so tacky, you may have to leave like they mentioned, from an idle. Traction control on will never be faster unless compared with a full on burn out off the line.
