Alright. I auto xed my vette the other day which I dont do very often. My car is extensively modified stall gears cam heads etc etc. It shifts great and hauls ***** at the drag track in a straight line. But when I auto x it it seems to not want to shift after coming out of the apex of the turn when I give it 30-75% throttle it will run all the way up against the rev limiter untill I let off the gas the it will shift.
So my question is what is the possible cause for this scenario? Any help is appreciated.
I think your going to have that problem with any Automatic unless its set up like the old Turbo 350 or 400 FULL MANUAL body.. so YOU do the shifting... I know with my buddies C4 with a Turbo 400 and a Manual body.. the car ran 10.87 & we wanted to slow it down to run 10.0 index... all we did was change the shift points.. from 6800 to 6500..
I cant do that with my trans and you cant even with the paddle shift.. if you car "Normally" shifts at 6500 rpm & you are in 2nd gear, at 5000 rpm if its floored and you shift to 3rd gear it WON'T SHIFT until it hits 6500..
I don't think anyone had done that to a new A6 trans yet.. but to AutoX with an auto, I think you need a FULL MANUAL body so you can shift UP or DOWN at any RPM, & the tranny WILL SHIFT NOW to the gear you want...
I would also like to hear more on this, though I never AutoX my car, it would be nice to be able to "Short-shift" it at the Drags to help me run slower if I want...
As it is now my car will only shift at app 6500 rpm..if its floored..
You would think that it would still shift after it gets to the rev limiter though. It wont shift untill you let off the gas and then it kicks in. I understand that it wont shift at 5000 or 5500 or whatever else but it runs all the way to the rev limiter then doesnt shift.
So what is wrong?? I called yank and they suggested it may be fluid slosh or airation. Ever heard of this and think it could be a possible cause?

You might have some luck checking out HPtuners site and ask the same question. Some converters are a bit looser than others and need the shift points, line pressure and lock up settings tweaked
If I recall you also have 3.42 gears you might want to pm Chris (Thesubfloor) as he has the same set up
