Default Broken Radiator Support?

Just bought a C6 missing the left piece of the air dam. Once under the car I noticed the aluminum square tubing that protudes under the nose is cracked and further up some welds are broken. Is this the radiator support, does anyone have a diagram of this part to help me identify and order a new one? I bought this car from my Father who used to constantly run up parking stops. He's offered to have it fixed, though the good deal he gave me on the car compels me to do it myself and save him the $. Anyone done this repair before? Should I put wheels on the supports of his new Vette?

I destroyed mine hitting a pothole in some road construction. It cost me $500 to have it replaced including next day air shipping and painting.

Thanks for the referral. I would be happy to assist you with new. You'll need some nut inserts as well.

Broken one was in 4 pieces, going out for insert nuts this morning. The replacement part was slightly different from the original. The ends of the "horns" were open rather than closed in as on the original. Disassembly was fairly straightforward and aside from setting the rivet nuts I think assembly will be snap as well. Being that the rivet nuts only hold on the air dam and horn assy. neoprene insert nuts would do in a pinch, but I am all for the OE. Thanks for all of your help.

Mine was broken in a minor curb accident. Insurance forced me to purchase new. I have re-welded the old one as I am a certified welding instructor/inspector. The part is aluminum, in which I have been welding for over 10 years. Although I am certain that this part is designed to break away upon heavy impact to avoid further damaged more vital components, I was very suprised of the poor quality of welds that were performed on this part. They looked like they were made by someone with VERY little experience! Hardly ANY penetration in SEVERAL places! It is no wonder that there are so many complaints with this part. Insurance quoted a factory replacement for around $450-$500....... I found a new after market version on Ebay for $239. I will sell my repaired skid plate/lower radiator support for $150. I have fixed the broken welds & reinforced the insufficient factory welds.
