Sorry bout all the questions guys. Thanks in advance for the help
I just got my car back from dealer for having the sensor in the steering wheel replaced cuz it kept locking down the car while I was driving. It's an 05 a4
This morning I get in the car and the "service active handling" is flashing all over the dash. Am I having more issues with the active handling? Once I cut the car off and turned it back ok it went away..... Is it gonna come back?
Ask your dealer to check the GM technical bulletin on this issue. There is a small plastic clip they can install inside the steering column to eliminate the problem. Takes about 20 minutes to perform.
Being that the 05's are out of warranty, how much $$ is this going to cost? I had the wire tie bit done 2 years ago but now I am getting the message again intermittently...
I had the same thing happen. The second fix seems to be working. The part cost is about $10-$15 and whatever labor is for a 15-20 minute job. Not too expensive. However, I told the service manager I didn't want them to do a computer analysis to determine the problem...Just do the tech. bulletin fix. That probably saved me $60.

but will this keep happening..and is something actually wrong with my active handling or is it just computer going nuts?

Best to get it fixed, and if it just needs the clip it won't take long to do or cost much, and then it should be fixed for good. I guess it's your choice whether you want the mechanic to check for codes or merely perform the TSB. In my case, I was fairly certain the TSB fix would work, so I just told them to do it. It worked!
The TSB is (or was, may have been updated) bulletin 06-02-35-002.
I had an intermittent problems that turned out to be the pulley eating the wiring harness. I dont think that is the problem with your car as my light would just go on and off after i restart
