I would cut them flush (all 4 your 2 stocks and the 2 Z-06 cans) at the mufflers. Then add the Z-06's to your pipes.

Easiest with no hacked up look!

Plus they hang exactly the same!

The guy that did mine left about a 2" stub on the Z06 mufflers, then tack welded the 2 1/2" over axle pipes from my stock mufflers to those stubs. This allowed us to move things a bit to get everything aligned..then he finished welding the pipes to the mufflers. The tips fit exactly like the stock tips, except they are a bit larger and fill the space up.

the sets we have done hang the same. They cut the over the axel at the back of the muffler and installed a 2.5" female adapter so the stock over the axel could be installed and then tightened with a band clamp
