I was joy riding the car today and was coming up on these turns at about 60 MPH so when I was going into the turn I hit the brakes a little bite to slow down. The brakes felt very odd, when i pressed down on the brake it didnt feel smooth and it felt like it was trying to grip, but the car did slow down to go into the turn is this normal?

Are you serious? If so, it sounds like you were going way to fast and your ABS was saving your a$$.
Well when I went into the turn i pressed the brake and it felt like it wanted to viberate and didnt feel like it was griping.
Have you done anything at all to the brakes in your car? Removing calipers to paint, swapping brake fluid, disconnecting brakes or brake lines... any of these can cause an air gap in your lines that can mess up your pedal feel and the overall brake performance. If you were tinkering with your brakes previous to this than you may need to bleed the system. There are lots of threads in the forum about this and make sure to bleed in sequence if required.
It could have been Active Handling or ABS kick in. I've had Active Handling kick in while braking in a curve and it is not a normal (or fun) feeling. It feels like the brake pedal goes in too far then kicks back at you and the brakes are failing for a moment. If you were to glance at the DIC you would see "Active Handling" message appear for a brief moment. I drive a canyon road frequently and have pushed the car and experienced this a few times now. It seems like it usually occurs when there is a dip or bump in the curve and the brakes are being applied hard. In all cases I was no where near loss of control, sliding, or skidding. I push it hard but never slide or go out of my lane. It took me a long time to figure out what is happening to my car. I'm more confident with the car now and have begun using Competitive Driving mode and have not yet experienced this again in Comp mode.
I have the exact problem you described more fully in your post. I am on a straight road, no curves, coming up to a stop sign and I start to "feather" the brakes (press down lightly) and BAM! My freakin' brake pedal vibrates and and the active handling light comes on.
I'm about sick of it. It happens nearly every time I drive the car (about twice a week) and always when I am starting to lightly brake.
Any thoughts?

I think I know what you're talking about. I assume you're asking because no message was displayed on the DIC.
I've noticed in the C6 that certain highish-g cornering maneuvers appear to cause the Vehicle Stability Enhancement System to wake up without dramatically intervening, and without causing the "Active Handling" message to appear.
There are certain corners where I can reliably cause the system to do this. If you lightly cover the brakes, you'll feel the characteristic high-frequency AH pulse (very dissimilar to the ABS pulse), but no messages will appear on the DIC. The conditions are such that the C6 (or any car) could be driven around the corner safely with AH disabled.
Under these conditions, the brakes work fine but they're being servoed by the Electronic Brake Control Module so the pedal feels stiff.
I suspect this VSES behavior is a feature designed to get out ahead of a potential wipe-out. Braking mid-corner is generally a Bad Thing, and is probably an excellent signal to the system that you're about to need rescuing. It appears that it is programmed to intervene early, just in case.

That one seems like a genuine malfunction. I'd have it checked out.
