Need some help please. After driving my car for a short trip, I stopped at a restaurant to visit a friend. After twenty minutes or so, I cranked the car and let it idle for maybe a minute. It stalled. I turned the switch off and back on and it ran fine. At the next two red lights, it tried to go dead, but I kept it running with the throttle. I got home and it did not stall.
There are no codes logged, but after checking for codes, I went for another drive to see what the computer is reading. It is 97 to 100 degrees outside here, and the computer is reading ambient air temps of 32 degrees. The IAT is around 110 to 120 degrees and my fuel trims are at -15 to -18. The car did not die again, but after stopping, it seemed to try and then went back to 650 RPM's. What's up?
2 things commonly that happen. 1. the computer idle learn is off (usually happens after a new battery or somehow the computer gets resset. 2. the throttle body is dirty and just needs cleaned.
outside of that look to any mods you have done lately that may have caused it (new air intake and hose loose etc..) if none of those then look to sensor to see if range as a clue to the issue. good luck, paul
how's the charge on your battery, itself? do a check of that and also see what it is charging at. I can't recall the procedure, but I've read that there's a way to check it statically with the engine not running but ignition on.
