k so i was planning on FI and may still in the future but for now due to buying a new home i am settling for a H/C/I package. i want to be at 450whp and dont want to spend more than say $5K. i have no idea at what to get tho. i dont want to give up too much gas mileage and i would like for it to be somewhat calm streetwise but nast once i get on it so anyways not that i want to steel anyone elses combo but i'd like some advice for parts and what i can expect. car is an '06 LBM
A6. currently has kooks headers 1 3/4" corsa catback and vararam.
If you are looking to spend up to 5K you can get into a blower. A blower will build more power than your cam and heads will and you will not screw up the idle and gas mileage. Do your self a favor and call Andy at A&A corvette's and see what he can do to help you get into a blower setup. The no. is 805 278 4107. I put a blower on my 08 A6 and it makes over 500 at the wheels and gets an average of 30 MPG.
He aint lyin....
Call Andy, tell him your budget & goals, and if he can, he will hook you up. I bought my kit from him used, and have had nothing but fun...
You will get far more HP out of a blower than you will the HCI package, plus you won't have the issues listed above.

thanks man i will give him a call. are u on stock internals? how much did the install run you? thx again
You can always install it yourself and save even more money.. That's what I did
i am a military E.O.D. tech and deal with alot of technical stuff but this car, tech wise, eludes me. i did a lot with my 2000 SS Camaro and it was fairly simple H/C/I but i never stepped into the FI realm

Its a direct bolt-on... It took me 3 days and it was the biggest project I had ever done in a Corvette, so its pretty manageable..

Where are you located at? Left coast, right coast or somewhere in between? I know 3 retired USAF SNCO's that would be willing to help...we just knocked one out 2 weeks ago on a 2006 A6 Vert! I bet we could cut 30% off the time it took us on the last one. It's pretty straightforward. You just keep picking up pieces off the garage floor and putting them on and when there is nothing left on the floor you are done!

Small world!.....All kidding aside installing the A&A SC kit is a lot less complex than installing heads/cam and you are pretty much guaranteed at least 500rwhp (100% streetable and probably an increase in gas mileage) as a result. A&A had a big sale back in April with the whole kit going for $4,600....inside of your $5k budget if you can catch it on sale again or save a few more pennies for the regular price of $5,200. I wasn't kidding about offering up our assistance for the install by the way. A long weekend on the Emerald Coast and you'd be golden or drop it off before your next deployment and it would be waiting for you when you return.

I'm one of the three volunteering services to get your SC installed and it was my LMB A6 vert we did. Since you're at MacDill now, once the install is done cruise over to Norris Motorsports in Winter Garden and get it dyno tuned. Mike is very thorough and you and your Vette will appreciate it. If you go with the A&A set up everything you need will be in the kit. I recommend you spend the extra $200 for the better blow off valve. You may also want to consider adding a boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge. I went with the Auto Meter Cobalt series and a gauge pod. These came from A&A as well. My average fuel mileage from Niceville to Winter Garden, Winter Garden to Kennedy Space Centre and back to Niceville was 28MPG. That's also factoring in three pulls on the dyno. Keep in touch with Motorhead-47 and he'll get with me, we're neighbours. The logistics will be coordinating with AWARE02 since it's his garage we'll be using.
Here's a liitle teaser of how your under hood could look.
