Are Bobcat's the 1521 pad I've read about?

yes, the bobcat 1521 is the street compound.

Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

 

I've been running Carbotech brakes on my car for a few weeks now; the stock pads felt real funny coming down from mid 170MPH (inconsistent brake pedal feel and pad bite) so I decided to upgrade into something more agressive; as per Carbotech's recommendations I've got XP8 up front and AX6 on the rear.
The bite is incredible! It actually took a little while to get used to how hard the pads grabbed and ABS kept on coming on the first couple of times I took the car out untill I relearned how much pressure to apply to the brakes.
Another big advantage was that, since Active Handling works by modulating the brakes, it has become much more effective at catching the car when it begins to slide (a common occurence with 600RWHP )

The one downside is that they squeal very loudly when coming to a stop (tried them both with and without shims, using anti squeal compound and plenty of caliper grease both times). Can't have everything I guess.
This is the 3rd vehicle I'm running Carbotech pads in; I think they make the best pads on the market and wouldn't use anything else
