My best friend has an STS-V. it was not even close when we went at it stock to stock. those things are luxury cars and weigh a tonne. The weight advantage over the CTS-V and STS-V is huge.
CTS-V is about a thousand lbs. heavier than a C6, but has 150+ more hp (vs stock LS2). Once they get moving, they move pretty good.
So is the new CTS-V 556 horses at 4,100+ faster off the line and quarter mile over the Corvette with 400 horses?
I would expect that the CTS-V will be alot more comfortable riding on bad roads compared to the Corvette just because it is a heavier car?
The Caddy with a blower (that would be a CTS-V) did the standing start mile at Bonneville at a little over 160 and the ZR1 was 177 FWIW.
Pretty close but just curious as to which car would be more expensive to maintain and likely to be more reliable or more trouble free? Base Corvette or 2009 CTS-V
CTS-V .................~4200 lbs .... 556 HP .... 7.5 lbs/HP
STS-V ..............., ~4200 lbs .... 470 HP .... 9 lbs/HP
VETTE ................~3200 lbs .....400 HP ....8 lbs/HP
(stock LS2)
VETTE ............... ~3200 lbs .... 436 HP ....7.3 lbs/HP
(stock LS3)
YOUR VETTE... ~3200 lbs .....480 HP .... 6.7 lbs/HP
Technically, so does a CTS-V. LS2 (or LS3) vs LSA.......Nothing is the same, except the firing order.
WoW! The CTS-V even at 4,200 lbs. is pretty fast car. Shelby GT-500 Mustangs and the Dodge Challenger 6.1 are both in that weight range but aren't in that power range.Maybe the Shelby GT-500 is closer to 500 something horses?
