I have a 07 Vette. Sometimes when I am going slow and turn left sharply, I here a grinding noise similar to the noise you would here if you had damaged rotors and hit the brakes hard.
Any suggestions?
Im sure. It's coming from the right front tire area. It stopped me to a grinding halt when I backed up then went forward turning sharp to the left. I'll be taking it for service soon.
i have the same thing going on with my 08.. i had the noise when the car was cold and when making sharp turns (left or right) when at very slow speeds. this appears to be the differential and is extremely common until it warms up and gets properly lubricated. i took it in to the dealer and they changed fluid according to the latest TSB. the problem immediately went away.
however now it makes a sound that sounds the same as that but only when i turn to the left. again it only does it when the car is cold and has sat for over 24 hours.
here is my question.. have you guys noticed if it does it in nuetral or only when in gear?? mine does it even when in nuetral (and coasting) and i am wondering if the diff can make noise even when the car is not in gear. i thought it might be a wheel bearing but that would not go away when the car warmed up would it?
The noise could be coming from the steering cylinder. There is a S.B pertaining to grunts in the steering at slow speed. They replace the power steering hose and install a bracket. My 07 has the same issue. Good luck
When I make a slow sharp left turn mine makes a grinding noise too. It only will do this when it it cold and has not been "excersized." It is coming from the front end and not the rear end and just started making these noises with only 15,000 miles on the clock. I have not taken it in for a check up yet.
