Default tire mounting/balancing experts: step inside please

I've recently purchased a set of wheels for my Z51 and they came with wheel centering rings. This will be my first expirience with these. I know what they do and all that. My question has to do with balancing. I work in the auto repair business and will probably be doing the mounting and balancing myself since I have access to the equipment. But tires aren't my regular job so I don't work with a lot of wheel designs. When I throw the new wheels on the spin balancer, will the centering rings need to be in the wheels? Logic tells me no but I'd like a second opinion from those in the know.

Oh, and I need to buy a set of TPMS sensors, suggestions on vendor?

Check the first part with Wolfdogs - He is the resident guru for tires and wheels. Buy your TPMS sensors from one of the forum parts folks like Gene Culley at GMPartsHouse.com

I'm no expert and have never mounted tires but have watched it done several times. As long as the arbor on the balancing machine centers the wheel it will make no difference weather or not the centering rings are installed or not. They have no effect on balance. They're just there to adapt the hole in the wheel to the hub of the car so the ring is centering the wheel and not the lugnuts tightening into their beveled seats. I have had wheels/tires on a car of mine where the centering rings were tapped into the wheel after mounting and balancing, right before they were bolted onto the car. No issues at all.
