Default Broken TPMS sensor

I've been hearing this horrendous-sounding metallic rattling noise coming from the front of the car for a few days now. Sounds like the sound that comes from a loose manhole cover when you drive over it... loud clanking noise. Discovered the cause today when I jacked the car up and spun the front nearside wheel; the TPMS sensor appears to have broken-off/come loose and it rattling around inside the tyre! No prizes for guessing what the last piece of work I had done to the car was... had my driver's side front tyre changed by a local shop. This was a few weeks back and they told me 'you may need to reset your sensors'. Yea, right. That was plausible and the sensor wasn't rattling around then, but I'm guessing the fitter damaged the sensor when unmounting/mounting the tyre and now it's completely shot. Hardly any point phoning them back because I'm certain they'll dodge any liability. This is exactly why I do all of the work on my car myself, but changing tyres is one of the few things you just can't do at home. Typical.

Anyway... what, exactly, do I need apart from a replacement TPMS sensor? Grommets, nuts, etc? Part numbers for everything required would be great. Also, any special install instructions? What's sickening is that I'll need to take the car to ANOTHER shop to get the new sensor fitted!

Thanks.

most tire shops are qualified to install and have them in stock.
Sorry, but I live in a small town and they know what it takes to go this.
I also try to do it all myself, tires is something i have to have done, but I stay there and watch, and Tip accordingly!!!
they remember me!!!

If you put your glasses on, you'll see I'm located in the UK. That is why I need part numbers, that is why I can't use Gene Culley (his international shipping charges just aren't viable) and that is why I spell tires 'tyres'

Who said the car was under warranty??? It's a 2005.

Can anyone else respond with something a bit more useful?!

you don't have dealerships? you sneak the car in? it's so small Gene could send it in the post for a few dollars

you can use the existing nut from the broken sensor, the 05's are black squares, the new ones are grey. both compatible.

i have a black square one at home, but im on vacation(/deployment) for another week. 20 bucks plus shipping

-carl

p.s. if i remember correctly, the black ones are triggered magnetically as well as a tpms tool
