Never saw that on my DIC. When started cold is gives the oil temp which slowly rises to whatever temp it is currently. I live in NY and on nice days take it out in the low 30's. Maybe someone else can offer more.
IIRC, that message appears if the oil temp is below certain (very low) number. In Sweden, could be accurate. In Maryland, could be a malfunction of the sensor.
At least, that's how it worked on the C5. I saw the message several times during each Chicago winter.
But haven't seen it on our 2006 or 2009, so maybe something is different.

What is your coolant temp? If it's low sounds like a stuck open stat.
Oil temp is directly related to coolant temp. Check coolant temp first. Oil temp in normal street operation should be around 30 to 35 degrees above coolant temp.

I have a Z07 radiator and a Z06 oil cooler and water is 190 and oil is 210 on an a mid 80's day in traffic. So my gap is about 20 degrees. I may have over killed on the oil cooler.

Not at all.
If we can keep the GT2 car running 180-190 water temp and 230-240 oil temp for 24 hrs that would be ideal.
There is always going to be a 20-30 degree split between the two in almost every case.
As for the low oil temp reading, is that all it says or does it give an actual number if you scroll through? If it doesn't say anything then my guess is that the sensor is bad or the wiring to the sensor has a cut in it.
