Default hypothetical ECU question.

so everyone says that if you flash the ECU back to stock.. they dealership can tell because all long term trends and or codes are gone.. but, you can clear all the codes and long term settings by reseting the ECU by unplugging the battery. How do they tell that you did a reset by unplugging the battery or because you pushed the ecu back to stock?

i wouldnt do either.. but just interested because of all the TUNE threads

if you copy a file on your computer there is a time stamp, the day it was copied, last accessed and last modified. definitely not the same. but something similar. either time stamps, flash cycles, or parity bits. either way,, your trying to cheat GM. no wonder they went bankrupt.

point blank.. you tune you loose your powertrain warranty

p.s. i recently took my Supercharged Vette to the dealers, they thought it was cool, but was like, dont even think about asking to fix any thing.. i was like hell yah, the power seats stopped working! they fixed them no prob..

Yes, there is a flash counter/trip meter. If you use EFI live, you can circumvent that, and no one will truly know. HPT does not allow that function.
