I can not see how to separate the wiring going into the sensor so that I can get a wrench over the sensor. Should I rent a "sensor wrench" that has a slit going up the side to clear the wires - then able to remove sensor from the header?
unplug the o2 after the cat(plugs are on fire wall). remove the cat then pull o2's. unplug header o2 (plug on bottom of coil pack)then remove the header then pull the o2. you can get proper tool with slit at autozone for like 7 bucks....makes things much easier!!! if 02 turned the rt way you can get with box end wrench....but if you luck any like mine lol

I wish I saw your post - it did take a while, but I did realize and I can the assembly off, THEN remove the O2 sensor! (Why the LG instructions do not mention this???). The O2 sensor socket ($7 at Bond Auto or any autoparts) made it MUCH easier - hope this all helps the next guy!
i couldn't get mine off, i let them sit in PB blaster for a day, got the o2 socket and even slight taps from a hammer would budge it,, i ended up rounding them both off and breaking the socket. good luck.

Maybe a little persuasion with slow and gentle heat?
