I was going to change the fluid in my clutch and I went and bought some DOT4 fluid as it has a higher temp. The clerk at the parts store told me to ensure that I drain all the DOT3 fluid out as the DOT4 is not compatible with it, it will gel up. Has anyone heard of this or can shed some light on the compatabilty of the two.
Suggest you read the label on the can. It should state what it's compatible with.
Generally store clerks are pretty clueless on such matters. Better info is from owners on the CF.
C6 owner's manuals state use DOT4 brake fluid in the clutch. So unless you've gone to something else, you've got GM-brand Super DOT4 in the hydraulics from the factory.
