Default I found "THE" Ext Cooler!

..........for me at least.

I have been toying with taking out my fog lamps as it is the only place I could pickup nice , fresh air due to my SC, intercooler, cluster F...

Well after some searching I found a curved external cooler that has the exact radius as the internal opening of the fog lamps. Further, received them yesterday and they are very durable - in other words if a rock hits them they will not fall apart.

Can be found here.......http://www.holley.com/types/Temp-A-C...%20Coolers.asp

Will have them installed soon.........one for my trans and one for the engine oil.

Actually if you go to this page (Look at page 7) and then click on "Coolers" it provides a PDF with all the details...... http://www.holley.com/Catalogs.asp?C...earlscover.jpg

How do you plan to get the air out that will be trapped behind the fog lamp housing?

He could hook it to the brake cooling duct and it would cool the trans or oil and front brakes under ram pressure.

Default Details - Details

Hooking into the brake cooling or actually running a tube to support the radiator fans sounds great. I could pick up some parts from Mcmaster -Carr and have my builder pipe it in Thanks for the thought!

Man - if the box is sealed I am in great shape. It would provide an excellent opportuntiy to bolt on a flange with a nipple/hoe barb to accept some type of flexible metal or hi-temp fabric hose. I could then take the hose and direct it at the brakes, radiator, or other coolers. I am thinking a CPVC flange with a hose barb or an aluminum weld type, flanged fitting - drill a few holes around the circumfrence, make a gasket and you would have a blast of warm (surely it would not be HOT) air to direct it wherever you want.

Flex-and-Stay Polypropylene Duct Hose: The hose is 2.5" ID and the SS stub end is 2.375". Can use a worm gear clamp to hold the hose on stub-end and I have a cooling duct. Total cost under $100.00.

CPG,

If you ever were concerned about the coolers getting hit by a bit of road debris when you put them in the foglight location you could always put a piece of racemesh, or mesh-o-some-sorts, in the opening, and the cooler a small amount back, for a bit of added protection. Might work, might even look more finished?

Me too (luv the fog lights) but I give up. I have to get my temps down somehow and certainly, along with the twin fans and ext coolers, I should be in great shape. I want to see temps at 190 while I am running 720 RWHP. I beleive I am on my way

I keep thinking about how well the car will run w/all that HP and cool oil, radiator, and trany.

I agree and have the solution in the mix. I have some 12 gauge (I beleieve - it is heavy enough to cut with a jigsaw) 4x4 SS wire mesh that should do the trick. The question is should I have it powdercoated black or leave it natural - I guess black would look better.

How about a 20 mesh stainleess screen? If you would like to try it I will send you two 10 inch round pieces that you could cut to your likeing. Just pm me your address if you're interested. There is no cost. Just looking to help.

As your car is yellow I'd have to say go with black mesh screens. I'd paint the screens RULEMKR is willing to send you.

I appreciate it guys but I'm on my way to the Far East this weekend for a month. I have time to have it painted and get the car over to my installer.
