Default GY vs FS Widths...?

Ill be in the mkt for rears and on the fence about RFs. Either way I want a wide rear tire .

Non RFs I can go up to 305 but, if I stay RFs I dont think you can wider than the 285 (yes/no?).

That being said...
FS FireHawks Wide Oval rates the tread width at 10.4" while the GY rates at 9.2"!

Are the FS really 1.2" wider (or appear) than the GYs?!

I saw the rating too before I bought the Firestones, they don't appear to be any wider than my stock GY Supercars.

My GY SC's were 10" and my new FS RFT's are 10". To get 10.4, you'd have to measure up the curve. They are the same width.
