what are some good radar detectors...i mean...everyone speeds right?....and not so much for me to not get a ticket(because if im speeding i doubt slamming on my brakes is gonna make it any better) but just curious sometimes when i pass a cop as to whether he actually has his radar on and stop light cams and such...anyhow...was hoping to find one that didn't always annoy me with the beeping when i look around and its just beeping at the automatic doors in walmart
The V1 can be programmed to reduce sensitivity or eliminate "normal" false radar signals (X-band and weak K-band).
The Escort uses GPS to identify and eliminate false signals in known locations.
If you drive the same route all the time and know where the traps/photo radars are, then IMO, the Escort probably makes the most sense.
If you explore the countryside and seek new territories to conquer, the V1's arrows and high sensitivity make it a good choice. Having the arrows and counter lets you know where to look and how to respond. Again just my opinion.
There are literally hundreds of posts on this subject, a detector is a tool that you have to use properly.
I have the new escort 9500ix that tells me where the red light cams are, very useful in NY. It will also tell you where the speed cams are, I have not seen any speed cams in NY , I Know they will be here soon. This is the best technology in road defense now.
wow it seems as though the v1 is overwhelming favorite with corvette owners haha with the escort coming in second, but yes i will be driving country roads mostly some town but mostly country

do you have to update it for the new cameras or does it sense the camera itself. im on the boat of getting one too an leaning towards the escort

Escort 9500ix, great detector, it's nice to know when the leo's have the radar on.
Especially useful when the CHP is approaching or coming up from behind with radar on.
Plus it has a up-datable data base.
