anyone here had a runflat patched? plugged? how successful was the fix? goodyears with under 9000 miles. should i buy a new one? puncture is in the tread, and is small. any comments/advice would be appreciated.
if it's in the tread and not close to the sidewall, it can be successfully patched. go to goodyear store. call them first and make sure they know HOW to patch their own runflats.
I would not recommend a Goodyear store. You would think they would know more about repairing a Goodyear than anybody else, but my experience and stories I've read here on the forum are that they usually know less than the other well known tire shops. They'll try to sell you a new one.
Have had several patched, no issues. Some places dont have the newest machines and young operators. Discount did mark (small) my rims each time they patched mine.
