Default Skipping/hopping/bad shocks?

I have a stock 05 Vette with 34k mi on her and when cornering it skips and hopps through. Is it bad shocks, or do I need a heavier sway bar? The one on the car is 11/16 relatively small. If shocks, what is a reco mmend? Anyone use Billsteins? Any good? I do not plan to do any racing or competitive driving. Thanks.

My 05 doesn't do what you describe yours to do.
Except sometimes in a turn, if theres a bump or rough spot in the road during the turn, it will sometimes skip/hop.
Anyway, apparently the Bilstein sport shocks are the way to go, and thats what I've ordered. don't know if they will cure the problem you describe, but they will definitely improve handling characteristics. Thats what others have told me. Z51 sways next.

If it only does that on corners I'd want to check the rear diff and make sure it is not binding...

For what its worth I put Bilstein Sports on my car and the difference in how it rides was very minimal. It helped a lot with wheel hop, but that's wheel hop I was getting from lighting up the tires in a straight line....

mine hops in turns if the turn has a bump, otherwise on smooth road turns beautifully.I was told it was tires even though 13K miles.

Default Mine too

I went through the "replace the rear diff lube" TSB and that got rid of the chatter. But now a year later (17K miles), my front tires are ground down to nothing. Over the course of the last year I went from everything's fine, to sometimes it's binding when I turn hard in a parking lot, to it's always binding when I turn hard in a parking lot.
Took it to a dealer, they swapped the lube again. That didnt' help so I took it back. This time after 15 minutes with the shop forman explaining to him what a locked rear diff would do (he really didn't seem to understand), he agreed to call his tech rep (whatever that is). He called back a half-hour later and told me they had seen this before and he's going to replace the clutch plates in the rear diff.
In a nutshell, the rearend has clutch plates in them that can slip. The fluid will work its way in between them allowing them to slip a little. The original fluid didn't work well so the plates were constantly binding/releasing/binding/releasing - that's what caused the chatter. The new fluid does what - let them slip more? I'm not sure but it doesn't sound good. Anyway, what seems to have happened is that the plates are permanently locked now so there is no slip at all. That's why I get the binding/hopping when turning slow and sharp. Just ordered a new set of Firestone Firehawks to replace the Goodyears. It sickens me that I only got 17K miles out of the first. I never, ever spin the tires and I'm gentle with it, so should have gotten well over 20K out of the goodyears. That combined with the jumping all over the road that seems to be bad on runflats, but much worse on the goodyears convinced me to go with a different MFG. the Firehawks are cheaper, have longer treadwear, corner as well (reportedly) and are made specifically for the C6.
I'll re-post after the dealer replaces the plates.
