Weird Key Fob Issue.

Weird Key Fob Issue.
Ok, before I get flamed for starting another thread about key fob issues, I did a search and found a lot of info but none that were exactly like the issue I am having. That being said here we go:
I went out to the car in the garage and tried to get in and the red light on the door was solid and the door wouldnt open. I tried it several times with no joy. I tried the unlock button on the fob several times also with no joy. I got the other fob from the house and hit the unlock button and it worked fine. So, I thought it might be the battery in the first fob(which was new 2 months ago) so I swapped it with the other fob that worked. It still didnt work. I unlocked it with the good fob and got in the car with the dead fob and tried to get the ACC to come on. DIC said no fob detected. I put it in the glove box and hit the ACC button again, it worked like a champ. For whatever reason the fob is not transmitting. I pulled it apart and checked/cleaned the contacts put it back together and tried it again, still didnt work.
Has anyone had this same problem and if so what was done to fix it. Also do you think the warranty will cover it if a new fob is needed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, your warranty should cover the fob too. When you opened it, you didn't see anything cracked, broken or whatever... its simply failed. Take it and the car to the dealer and get a new one and let them program it for you.

Thanks, that is kind of what I thought. No, there was not anything obviously broken when I opened it. What is really weird is that is the fob I use all the time. I just used it 2 daqys ago with no issues. I am heading to the dealer this morning.
