Ok so here's the deal...I've received the "Check Oil Level" message. So I park the car on a level surface and check the oil levels in the AM...And my oil level was perfect, and the indicator says the Oil life is at 45%.
I keep getting this message and everytime I check the level its perfect!
Now the message will poop up several times during a drive...So what gives.
Do I need to reset something, or do I have a sensor going bad...or what?
Mine goes through about a quart every oil change..........its typical in these motors. Everytime I get the message I add a quart. Mine says I have 58% life left.

My C5 did this a couple of times. I researched at the time and found 1) that if the car was parked on a hill the sensor could read low at startup sending an error message and 2) if something such as water cooled the sensor there could be a temporary error (such as when washing the car/engine).
The thing to do is follow your dipstick. Drive the car, put it through a few ignition cycles and see if the message clears. But remember, always believe your dipstick, old technology but it really works.
