Default Spec clutch for LS7

Has anybody had any luck with these? I used to run a SPEC 3 on my 02WS6 at 606rwhp no issues. I don't understand why all these C6 clutches are almost double the price for basically the same holding power and LS application.

I was always told to stay away from Spec. I just posted an issue I'm having with my Ram twin disc clutch, so keep an eye on that thread also it might help you out.

I had a Spec StageII, with new balanced flywheel (cant remember the brand) on my C5 and had some chatter. Not bad from what I was told by friends in the performance world, but any chatter to me in a car I put that much money into is unacceptable. If I had to do it all over again I would look at Linginfilter and Callaway and see what they are using, make sure they are not having ANY problems, and follow their lead. No matter what the cost. Proven results mean a ton when spending the dollars we do on changing a clutch. Not like my son's stang where I can change the clutch in the driveway on a Sat.

Good luck, I look forward to hearing what others are saying.

had a spec stage III on my 2001 TA. 500+ hp and loved it. no help on vettes. agreed. same product, same basic LS motor and twice the price on a vette compared to a f-boby or other LX based car. paid 500 for a set of jet hot coated headers for my LS1 TA and it looks like you can't find a set of vette headers for under $1000.00. corvette tax sucks.

I had a Spec II and Fidanza flywheel on my C5, loved it. A buddy put on a Spec III and while it held his high HP, it chattered, a lot. I'm going with a Monster 3.5 on my C6 Z06.

I've had so many issues with Spec Clutches that you could not pay me enough money to put one on my car.

I would highly recommend that you look into the new Monster Clutches. I've got one in my car right now and it drives like a stock clutch... Costs a LOT less than anything from Spec too...
