just seeing if i'm missing something in this equation! just traded my worn out pilot sports for some invo's 345/30 19's for the rears still running the michelins in front, but here's the deal i've got way to much rear float in the azz almost scary. no definately scary!! i got about 35 psi in them now why such a huge difference between the two. cause if it means rolling my car i'm going back to the pilot sports. your help is appreciated!!
From: Greater Detroit Metro MI, when I'm not travelling.
As WhiteLightning said, if they are brand new, they still have an oily mold release compound impregnated into the rubber which will make them very slippery untill it wears off. It can take up to 500 miles for the tires to reach maximum grip.

Or, just light um up a few times . . . safely of course.

keep in mind. the 345/30s have a larger sidewall then the stockers.. stockers are 325 with 25% ofr 325 sidewall.. 345s are 345 with 30% of 345 sidewall. the invos sidewall is ALOT softer then the run flats. Most of the people i know who have gone to runflats have not used invoes because of this.
I too thought I'd just made a mistake when I first put them on. Felt real loose for a while. Big difference from the well worn RFs. After the first 1K they started to feel better and now with 16K they're real nice.
IMHO the tread pattern may lend itself to more squirm than what I was expecting.
will check on the speed rating, thankyou guys for all the input as one fellow vette owner told me you will figure which tire you like the most, and so far the pilot sports were real nice but for traction hands down nittos . or maybe a big ricer wing j/k

Same thing happened to me.Got rid of Invos.I drive to fast to worry about car not handling.
Why doesn't Nitto make the 555 in C6 stock size? I put the 555's on my C5 and loved them. Yeah I know they blow in the rain but who really drives a Vette in the rain?

typo... stock size is 325/30, which means the sidewall is 30% of 325, not 25%. (which means that the if the spec is followed, the sidewall of the OEM 325 is a little less than 1/4" shorter than the 345 Invo)
However, you're right, the RF's sidewall is MUCH stiffer than the Invo (and stiffer than any other non-RF tire for that matter).
