Since fatigue, wear, connecting rod loads, bearing loads and friction all depend on RPM, and go up exponentially as RPM goes up, it is very difficult to have an engine spin very fast and last a warrantee period. As a result, production engines all have relatively low redlines, and as a result of that their internal components are designed to survive those relatively low redlines...
Tell that to my old S2000 .
