Default "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK" Updates?

My car is out of warranty now so I guessing I'm out of luck on getting the General to fix it on his dime, but was hoping there was a recall or something to get it fixed. Anyone heard anything in regards to this?

The car starts fine but my automatic door locks and telescopic steering dont work as well and I'm guessing it's all tied together since they all started at the same time...

I just called my local dealer and told me that there was a recall for 05's but my car was not flagged as one with the issue... I'm not sure how I can verify for myself if my car was indeed part of the recall or should've been but is not listed as yet. I've had several recalls and service bullitins that apllied to my car that I had to physically show to the dealership that there was a known issue with the problem...

The dealer said I'm on my own as far as paying to get it fixed since I'm out of warranty.

Does anyone have any information on how to diagnose and fix the issue myself?

I figure if I fix it myself it would be done right the first time vs multiple trips to the dealership to get it all straightened out...

If the C6 column lock design is the same as on the C5s, it is well documented in the C5 Tech section.
