Default Need Clarification on endlink install

I plan on installing the GM updated endlinks on my 08 Coupe as I have a pop/creak from the left front. I have used the search feature and see that some folks install the GM endlinks with the suspension under load and other say it is not necessary as the GM link are non adjustable. What is the correct procedure?

TIA

If you have an "08" why are you changing them yourself? that should be under warranty. But getting back to your question, since there is no adjustment on the end link it shouldn't matter. the real problem is the ball joint. try not to turn them that seems to screw them up. if it continues to pop after the install you may have to retourque. btw I had them installed twice by the dealer. I finally gave up an bought the LG end links no more noise. it seems the the end links are the weak "link" in the vette's suspension
good luck,
Mike

I would rather spend $50.00 on new endlinks than have the stealership screwup my car.

I don't blame you. There are a lot of ppl at the dealerships masquerading as mechanics.

Since our sway bars pivot in the center bushings the exact length of the end links isn't critical other than being equal.

The end links are only loaded when one side as at a different height than the other.

As long as the suspension is equal height left to right the end links won't have any load.
