Default Lights flicker

When my vette is at idle, the interior lights and tail lights flicker really bad. If I just step on the gas to increase idle 100 RPM, lights stay strong. My engine idles at 600 RPM. Any suggestions?

I would start by checking the battery cables.... Or you battery or alternator could be going bad....

I see you have a '05. In the early models there was a crank pulley problem, where the bolt would back out & allow the pulley to spin on the crank, causing what appears like an electrical problem since the belt would also slip. If you VIN is before 55111039, you may want to check it out & make sure. There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) out on this. Your dealer should have the info. Good luck!

Glad I'm not the only one with this. I know my car is on battery #2 (dealer changed right before I bought it).

I don't know why it does it, but it does. Only at idle that I've seen.

6MT if it makes a difference.

The idle seems a little low , I think it should idle at 800 RPMs . I could
be wrong . Good luck

Check with voltmeter at idle and then at higher RPM. Should be about 13.9v or higher

My stock idle is 650 when warm. It starts at 800 cold and works down to 650.

Do you see the flicker when cold? Do you see the flicker when hot?

My LS1 would flicker when cold as the AIR pump would come on. After the engine was warm, the AIR would not be used and the flickering stopped.

I don't have my Helms with me in the Keys so I can't confirm if we still use AIR pumps on our cars.
