What aspect of a tune effects exhaust note? I know that air fuel mix does this but i noticed a change in my exhast note at wot sounding thinner like higher rev type deal. My mixture or redline were not messed with. Could this be timing, or anything tweeked int the tranny like line preasure or tq management?
To the experts, please excuse me if I sound lost in the sauce. Any input would be greatly apreciated.
AT WOT as long as the engine sounds smooth, nothing would change the actual sound of the car through the exhaust unless you had something like a header leak, clogged catalytic converter, or something along the actual exhaust.
Unless it was a dead cylinder or something along those lines, it shouldn't be that noticeable of a change. The sound is the direct relation of the motor and the note changes as it passes through the exhaust pipes.
I drive my car ALOT and was told that running rich muffles exhaust note. I can vouch for that. The thing is that then something else was tweaked and I noticed a difference where it didnt sound as deep. It is slight to anyone else but Since i drive my car so much I noticed.
When I had bullets on my car I noticed a difference in sound from a ported TB and a non ported unit. So did my friend
Thanks for comming in and participating in my thread Big turk!
