MGW shifter, Damn. it's good
Thanks for the positive feedback, I also lift slightly, depress the cluch and "rapidly" select the next gear. With the stock shifter, I would also mis 3rd 30% to 50% of the time.
With the new MGW, I have not missed a shift yet. Period.
One more note. I have been "banging" shifts in my modded Mustang for going on 20 years, 225,000 miles, on a B&M Ripper. Not once have I had any transmission issues, The cluch has only been replaced twice, the second one was due to training my daughter to drive a manual with an extreramly heavy cluch. For what it's worth.
By the way, the MGW seems far more superior than my B&M in the Mustang.
Tighter, stronger. shorter. The best of the best.

Here are some...
1) Shorter throws
2) tighter racing feel over stock
3) rugged quality (doesnt feel rubbery as stock
3.5) 2 piece design so you can angle the shifter for best comfort (I found this to be a cool feature than a fixed design).
4) solid design
5) wont miss shifts
6) quicker shifts
7) very affordable for its technology (best value for dollar)
7.5) comes with all you need (I only recommend you using some thread lock for the bolts as mine backed out on me, but I used threadlock and never a problem again)
8) talking to george is assuring and a pleasure, nice guy.
The only thing that I can find wrong is that you do need a bit more effort to shift which to me isnt a big deal, as we have a sports car, not some pansy a$$ luxury vehicle!!!

I was missing shifts into third occasionally when I tried to guide it in with a tight grip. The best way to shift into third gear is with a relaxed grip, using the palm to push straight up from second gear, and allow the spring to guide the shifter into third (as it is designed to do). This can be done very quickly with some practice.
Yeah, I miss the days in the Mustang with a good old 4 speed top loader and a Vertigate shifter that you could power shift with your foot to the floor and not hurt a thing. Even running 6.20 gears and drag slicks it held up to the abuse. Sadly, our Corvette transaxles will not take this kind of pinishment so we have to take it a little easy on the shifts. They do make some nice aftermarket shifters though, I just installed one in my C5 that works quite well.
