Default MGW shifter,,, need some help!

I installed the MGW shifter with extra handle (35%) to my 08 C6,

The installation is easy and straightforward, I run into problems and I need to confirm from you guys some issues if you had ever face the same:

problems:
1- when the gear in Nuetral, when moving it to the right, then let it go, it will not cameback to center as it suppose to do when moving it to the left! is this a problem? what could be the source of that?

2- The real problem now that happen to me somtimes, the gear stuck in 3rd and I hardly let it go (one time I was forced to park on road side to let the gear of from 3rd) and somtimes it was stuck in 5th gear also.
That occured to me around five times only till now!

shifting when the car cold & parked, very smoothy and easy shifts to all the gears, when driving it seems more difficult to me! any input on this matter will be appreciate it

=====================

Just to double check some steps in the installation,
1- The rubber boot that came and made specially to 2008 C6, what is the proper way of installing it? do you really need it or the thinny OEM rubber is good enough? I intalled it bit don't know its proper position + its large face up or down?

2-The rubber shown in the picture (red squared mark), was torn and in bad shape, but as I know it will not casue a shifting problem as it may cause a heat soacking... is that true?

3- The shifter base that is fixed with 4 bolts, is it directional (heads in place of tails?) it seems though becasue there is no mark to show if it was directional

The shifter is really great, good quality, a way much better than the OEM, but with these problems Im starting to think to put back the OEM shifter

Any help/suggestion will be appreciate it

Thanks folks

A few thoughts / comments...

- Is the ripped boot perhaps interfereing with the shifters return to center position? Did you cut the rubber OEM base as in the instructions?
- Have you installed the upper half of the shifter properly? Do you have a picture of that on your car to see if its position is perhaps causing your issue?
- Im unclear as to your question on the shifter base, there is only one way to put it on.

I don't think so, I will check it out again. Yes I do cut the rubber as in the instruction and it fit perfectly

Yes Im sure of that and test drive it to ensure it was ok before fixing it, but Im doubting the black ring boot rubber maybe it should be installed vise versa, I will check that also and try to take pictures

I think there are two ways
either like this
; :
or
: ;
(I mean you rotate it 180 degrees)

Not sure how you could possibly have a problem as the installation is very straightforward and simple. Post pics because I'm guessing you've done something flagrantly wrong.

Are you guys saying something like the Geico ad's slogan but a little different?

"MGW shifters....so easy to install even a drunk can do it????"

Awaiting the pics...there has to be something wrong with the install as George has said, additionally, look at the responsiveness on his part...fantastic customer service

For me, the drinking started when I tried to get the bezel off - 30 minutes of cussing and thought it was going to break in half. Rest of the install went smoothly.

I think that is a fair statement. Just don't use power saws.

i cannot view the video but by the pics its hard to tell
can you post pics of the shifter without ANY of the oem boots installed.
also that boot you are referring to that is torn you can remove it
it is not needed with the mgw shiifter
and see if that helps. you should have a second boot UNDER that one with the 4 nuts on it
that is the one you need to use.
