As mentioned some of these items still have the Federal emissions warranty which is 80,000 miles. I'm surprised they still have the 100,000 warranty.

I wonder if they will make the same changes to GMPP or if that will still cover those parts for the term of the extended warranty?

From the link in Post #1:

Engine Coverage Includes: All internally lubricated parts, engine oil cooling hoses, lines and radiators. Also included are all actuators and electrical components internal to the engine (i.e.: Active Fuel Management Valve Lifter Oil Manifold, etc.) as well as the Engine/Powertrain Control Module, module programming, cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, timing cover, oil pump/oil pump housing, OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets, manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer, engine mount, starter motor, turbocharger and supercharger. Timing belts are covered until the first scheduled maintenance interval.

Exclusions: Excluded from the powertrain coverage are sensors, wiring, connectors, engine radiator, coolant hoses, fans, coolant and heater core. Coverage on the engine cooling system begins at the inlet to the water pump and ends with the thermostat housing and/or outlet that attaches to the return hose. Also excluded is the entire pressurized fuel system (in-tank fuel pump, pressure lines, fuel rail(s), regulator, injectors and return line) as well as the Engine/Powertrain Control Module and/or module programming.
So GM, is the ECM/PCM included or excluded ? ? ? Class action lawyers, do your thing.

I just looked at your post from yesterday. You have a 100-150 shot of NOS, 4.10 gears, Fast 92, most of all the boltons and a aftermarket clutch. Why in the world would GM void your warranty?

Maybe he put those mods in after the warranty was voided? You know what they say about assuming.

Why change the clutch then? Usually it isn't the first part to be changed.

Hey Bob, I took it in for a trans issue 1-2 grinding, for the second time. The first time they fixed it no questions asked, broken 1-2 syncro and something else. 1500 miles later it started to do the same thing. This time they called me on the phone and asked if I changed the clutch, I said yes. (the same clutch that was in it the first time they fixed it) that was the end of that Denied. The worst part was after the tech that fixed it the first time, He DIED from an overdose so God only knows what the hell he did to my Trans. That was the 3rd time my car was denied for service. There are others, the rear/trans seal was leaking they fixed that 3 times each time it leaked worse than the last. The last was with 3000 or so miles on the car there was a pin hole in the AC condenser I ate that too. So next time im definately going another route! Warranty What warranty???
Ive bought GM cars for 25 years Never again. It had a Cartek clutch in it

^ it's not just GM man...hate to tell you but that's becoming the industry standard too often...like them lying...short story: 911 with aero kit, front lip/spoiler is beat, dealer says its alot of work so they do body work, comes out nice...found out later that you can buy the whole lip for 200 bucks and it's 2 bolts, 6 clips = 5 minute job...go figure right?
I don't agree with the clutch voiding the warranty, they need to prove that in court, that's why there's the Moss law: so you can change parts when they break and can choose not to use a GM part. In your case they would need to prove that the clutch was what broke the syncro... I mean in this case, if you have anything other than an AC delco oil filter, they should void the warranty too right? your case is complete BS but GM gets away with it because
1) they have more money than us
2) better lawyers than us
3) don't have to take LWOP to go fight in court

Seems you've had your share of problems. My crank pulley backed out last month and wiped out the belts and balancer, $1100., get it back and the next day my rear end start whinning for the third time in a year.( 2 410's and a 390) I had kept my stock cam/ heads, exaust and mufflers, and the intake. I called my tuner, paid to return it to stock, and traded it in on a new car. I am getting a new Z06 and I going to try to keep it stock if you know what I mean. Good luck to you and I hope you can keep it running. GM isn't a bad company they just taking away our unjustified claims. I was good while it lasted. Bob

the funny part is gm put a trans in mine said i had to use the new stock coverter and then the trans over heated they changed everything a new tcm ecm, they tried to say it was my tune but after they put new in and they couldnt get my converter to lockup, they asked if my tuner could put my tune back in or tune the trans for the new converter, so he did and it worked perfect, the manager said they should have Julio make the tunes for gm, as they couldnt get it to work

Don't want to hijack this thread, but is the clutch setup covered under the limited bumper-to-bumper warranty on my 06? Thanks!
