Default Drag Radial Solution...

Honest, I did search extensively, but now my head spins! I'm taking it to mean there's no easy answer, but:

I'd like to run drag radials on my '07 Z06, with these criteria:
- I'd like a wheel that matches the stock polished wheel
- I'd like to keep as much width as possible (ie: not run front wheels on the back)

Is there anything out there that will fit? It seems like an awfully long time coming for a drag radial to fit this car...

I'd even go to a full slick if I could mount them on a spare pair of factory rear wheels. I'd go down to 18s if I needed, as long as they're the same width as the original rears and match the fronts.

Given those criteria, do I have any options?

Thanks!
Dave

You can go to 18's and have them widened by weldcraft. They will match and you can make em as wide as you want to.

There are repro 18x12's (with z06 offsets) available that will fit a nice 345 Drag Radial. Eventually I will buy these and sell my OEM 19's.

Why does it have to be a 12" wide wheel for a drag radial?

All that's going to do is slow you down.

Might want to consider this from a Ranger post.....

"The weak LS7 clutch also limits the tactics on selecting DRs and their optimal psi. Lot of folks have made the mistake of treating the C6Z like C5s. Tires with (1) too big/sticky a contact patch and (2) too low psi.

If you want MT Street Radials, the 275.40.17 is about the biggest the LS7 clutch will tolerate without inducing premature failure. And 18-19 psi is about the lowest you can go without inducing excessive clutch slip.

Change to a stronger clutch and these limitations will change too. But doing that has warranty implications you need to research first."

A 275 MT ET street radial is easily good into the 1.5 60 range.

More tire than most on this site will ever need at the track.

Get a set of fronts and widen them. Dont mess with replicas. Mickey Thompson has a 345/35/18 that would look good on there.
