I have had my 09 Vette for about a month. I had no problems pairing my phone with Bluetooth in the car. Then, about three days ago, it stopped working. It won't let me pair any phone and no longer recognizes the phone I had it paired to. I have seen on other GM vehicles that there are a lot of problems with Bluetooth. Anyone know of problems with 09 Vettes?
Try deleting the phone from the head unit, delete the GM listed device from your phone, then pair the phone again. It has worked for me in the past on my '09.
I called my local dealer and they say there are no TSBs on the Bluetooth. But, I found that there is an Onstar TSB that involves a software upgrade. I'm not all that hopeful about this dealership, but I'm going there tomorrow. My last visit was for a slow leak in my front tire. They said they don't fix runflats and sent me to Goodyear. Turns out there was a barcode sticker on my chrome rim right where the tire bead seals to the rim. Goodyear was a lot more helpful than the dealer. This same dealer has treated 2 of my buddies with Vettes very badly. If you didn't buy from them, they act like you are dirt. I bought mine from a Covette only dealer outside of Orlando. It had 2000 miles on it and I saved a chunk of money.
On my '09, there was a recall (originally 08259 and replaced by 08259A) on the Onstar module, also referred to as the Communications Interface Module (CIM) or Vehicle Communications Interface Module (VCIM) in some of the documents. This module also has the Bluetooth interface. The module had to be replaced as part of the recall. You would have to re-pair all phones after replacement.
The recall on the module wasn't for reported Bluetooth problems, however, but involved a defective component that would prevent receiving and making calls to OnStar even though you would receive the "Connecting to OnStar" message and the LED would light, but the call would never be established.
For me, the Bluetooth interface seemed to function more reliably after the module was replaced. But the recalls don't make any reference to issues with the Bluetooth interface.
I found I needed to delete the bluetooth from both the car and the phone. Then I had to be parked with the handbrake on and the phone in the cup holder to pair them properly. It now works, but the phone still needs to be in the cupholder.
I check on the Vette recall for the Onstar module. My vin is between the breakpoints listed in the TSB. It is effective thru October 31, 2009. That info will help alot at the dealership!
I went to Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota to have my Bluetooth fixed. They were great. I was treated like royalty and everyone was very helpful. The tech worked on it all day and it turns out there is a Bluetooth antenna on the CIM under the dash. The antenna had a faulty connection. Bluetooth works great now.
