Default 17" or 18" drag radials?

ok, I'm looking to get some better tires for the drags, not for everyday driving. I see that some of you are using 17" and other 18'" drag radials. I have a MN6, what size/brand tires are recommended and why?

You don't say how fast your car is, or what your 60' are.... if you are close to stock with a few minor bolt on's and are running 11.50 or slower go with whichever is easiest for you..

But remember the 18" will have a shorted side wall.. (I'm assuming you are using a 26" tall tire) if you use a 17" rim the tire will have more sidewall and it (should) be better if you have a high HP car..

My car is a low 12 sec. car it came with 19" in the rear, but I use 18" Mickey Thompson and have no problems... I see a lot of 11 sec cars also using 18" but if you are going to use them for Drags only then 17" would be better (IMO)

OK ... I just checked your profile.. you are close to stock.. the biggest problem with manual cars is "Wheel Hop" go with 17" I think they are more forgiving...

just have bolt ons so far, but plan to add a cam and a FAST intake. car runs 12.6 @ 115 w/ 2.1 60 ft on the run flats but the tires spin everytime I shift and it's tough to launch.

I'd go with the 17" especially since you have a stick, because they are lighter and have more sidewall to cushion the launch. Hoosier 275/40 if they're going to be purely for the strip, there's a couple 9sec stick cars running them...
