That's amazing, because I have excruciating drone with NPP and AR headers! IMHO it's not the fault of ARH, as all headers will exacerbate drone caused by most aftermarket mufflers, including OEM NPP. My C6 is cammed, but even before the cam the drone was very annoying. Drone occurs in my car (and many other Forum member NPP cars) at rpms below 1,900. Are you claiming no drone with NPP muffler flaps open? Or perhaps you are someone who tolerates it well.

closed is great for the wife!!
I had drone with my Bullets, they sounded great but the drone at 1500 rpm was terrible

No drone with flaps closed. Yes to drone with flaps open. Only time I really drive with them open is with the top off. My arh are with cats. As for my tolerance it's probably high. This is my fourth sports car and I also have raced sportbikes sooo yes I like the noise. However drone does bother me and I have taken two 4+ hour trips in my vette since the arh install.

The world has gone Mad

Yes the system sounds great but drone does exist. The Corsa minimizes this however compared to other aftermarket exhausts.

gatti-man...Thanks for the explanation. When my top is off the drone is greatly reduced, same as what you experience.

pmj341...all I can say is, glad you don't hear any drone! However, I think you are the rare exception for NPP with headers & flaps open. I have to keep the flaps in "wife mode" (closed) when my wife rides with me, same as you. My high frequency hearing is not good, but my low frequency hearing is exceptional. I think that may have a bearing on one's tolerance to drone.

I have 3.42 gears, it stays out of the 1500/1700 area, and I did make changes in my gear shift speeds to avoid just that!!!
also the TCC speed engagement is above 60 mph!!!
Creative tuning!!

Default Here at ECS....Cream Ridge NJ

Left home in the dark of the morning & got to ECS at 7:30 (80 mile run)....Chris offered WaWa coffe, but already got mine from DD! Mike has the '05 up on the lift & already has the OEM headers, cats & my Corsa X-pipe out on the shop floor. Doug is also here ready to do the tune once Mike finishes the AR Header install. Weather is perfect in NJ this morning & no more rain in the forecast for the Saturday Kerbeck Toys for Tots run. Ain't life grand! BTW....anyone interested in a Corsa X-pipe for a C6 w/manual tranny? More to come as work proceeds.....

Mike just finished the install.....Doug hooked up his magic tune boxes & took off down the road! Haven't driven it yet, but sure sounds great! ECS is an easy drive from Totowa.....do it man.....call Chris at ECS....he'll set you up.

I agree, I have AR headers on my Z06 with stock mufflers and I do not get any drone when cruising. If I open up my exhaust valves, I will get drone but that is not the fault of the headers. I got drone with these valves open b4 I installed the headers. Any drone folks get may be more due to the type of mufflers they have rather then due to the headers in my opinion...

Adding the ARH really did wake my Z up. When I open up those valves she sounds great....

Do it. Headers with NPP are awesome plus headers are a great supporting mod for anything else you do in the future.

Default Hats off to AR & ECS

Just got back from ECS (East Coast Supercharging for those not in the area)......80 miles on mixed local roads & Turnpike. AR Headers are all I was hoping for.....great increase in mid-range torque with some increase in exhaust note which is not objectionable at all. And at WOT....I'm in heaven! No dyno data, but seat-of-the-pants feels like 25-35 RWHP. The guys at ECS are great too.....Mike did the install & Doug did the tune.....both these guys are masters at their crafts. I'm really pleased with the work they did & can HIGHLY recommend ECS to all.

In every car we tested headers on, the American Racing Headers performed the best on the dyno and on the strip.

Look what headers are on the fastest vettes.

Check out Gary2004Z06's car this fall. It's only a Bolt on C6Z06 that will run low 10's. It made 490rwhp on a the dyno with American Racing Headers.
Ask shops like AMR, ECS, VDr's,Carlos,RPM,Tune Time, etc what they recommend for their customers or what headers they run in their personal car.

I've had zero issues with my ARH, in fit, finish, performance and install.
