Default AR Headers

I'm planning to install American Racing headers (1 3/4 x 3) w/X-Pipe & High Flow cats on my '05 C6.....mated to Corsa Sports mufflers. Engine is otherwise stock. Any pros or cons...especially want to know if exhaust sound would be objectionable for normal cruising?

Only at around 1500 rpm, give or take 300 rpm. You will get the drone. If you like to max your mpg on the hiway you will be fighting the drone. If you do not mind driving at 2000 no problems. No this is only under partial throttle, like inclines in the road or just picking up some mph. If cruise is on and level it better. The headers add the drone, any other aftermarket carback exhaust will have more drone.

You will have ZERO drone IMO. I have Kooks headers and the Corsa Sports axle back, Ive never had a drone in 3 years. IMO The KooKs
Make more power. Check the fast list. The cars at the top have the KooKs.
Good Luck

Dave S, I can't confirm if there is or isn't any low speed drone with our system mated to the Corsa Sport but I can tell you there's countless forum members with that combo. Wait for additional feedback.

Getsum, The quickest and fastest C5's and C6's ever built are all ARH equipped. You can bank on that.

My new Tuner swears by them too. But this is the proof to me.
10.62 @ 126.98 - Dennis50NJ - 05 A4 Z51 - CAI, cb, conv, ewp, pfast, hdrs, 3.73, ptb, tune, DR - (3948)
11.18 @ 123.54 - LS1LT1 - 06 A6 - CAI, Conv, fast, hdrs, tune, DR - (4182)
11.41 @ 119.56 - Dicky - 06 A6 - CAI, Conv, cutouts, fast, 3.42, hdrs, tune, DR - (4168)
11.60 @ 121.69 - Silvervette05 - 05 M6 – Z06 exhaust, gto skinnys nitto555 tune - (3815)
11.63 @ 123.18 - Braciole - 07 M6 - CAI, cb, dp, ewp, hdrs, pfast, 4.10 tune, DR - (4006)
11.63 @ 118.46 - JMT1669 - 06 A6 - CAI, cb, hdrs, fast, 3.42, tune, DR - (4019)
The Top Bolt on cars all have KooKs. Dennis, Marc, Braciole, JMT1669,
etc.
Are there any Dyno tests done that you know of that you could post up? Or some other bolton cars that can compete with these cars?
If you could prove your right Ill buy ARH from you. This has been debated forever. If your interested we can start another thread.
Thanks

I had Kooks and now have
ARH's They both preform great. Any of the above cars would be no faster or slower with Kooks or ARH. I can say one thing for sure.
When you hold the 2 x -pipe's side by side there is a difference.

The ARH cats are futher back than Kook's plus they are larger cell
plus are shorter. MORE flow! When I boosted my Car my Kook's
had a pressure sound and ran warmer. The ARH had no pressure sound and for sure have less heat. The Kooks' also run closer to the block.
Where the ARH spread wider away from the block!
I also had a RWHP gain from the switch!
For a boosted Car I say ARH are better. Both are quailty pieces!

Thats the FASTEST C6 on that list, and it has ARH headers.

Fastest IRS C5 (Bowery Boy) 8.54 ARH headers, My vert 8.70@158 ARH headers, RobZ's fastest NA C5 - ARH headers. I could go on, but you get the point I'm sure.

I am not here to say that Kooks is a bad header by any means, but ARH is more then proven to me to be the header that we will install and sell.
Doug....I'll be seeing you tomorrow (Thursday) for the ARH install!

Just trying to get an apples to apples comparison. Ill try and find some
boosted S/C cars with KooKs to compare to what you posted.
Id really like to see a side by side on the same car.
Thanks for posting.

Dave,
My C6 coupe has American Racing Headers with hi flow cats in the X pipe and Corsa Sport mufflers. The combination is as close to perfect as I've seen. It is quiet under moderate throttle, yet sounds great when you press the gas pedal. There is some burble when decelerating.
There is NO DRONE whatsoever.

You will love the fit and quality of the AR headers. Take a moment and look at the merge collector, especially on the inside. They are the finest headers currently available for the C6.
