Did you really ask that? Okay let me focus....yep..yep you did....hysterical.

Maybe try reading the link I provided. Maybe try getting all "your facts", and "proof" in order. Maybe try doing a search as well and look at the countless pictures of Vajunks since there are so many threads on them.
Wow! The slip must be pretty bad! Your in the 13s at least right???

HUH?

Comprehension calling GETSUM. Comprehension calling GETSUM.

This thread is about a piece of Vajunk that warps with shifting gaskets. Maybe try reading the thread again, and try comprehending. If you just can't do it on your own get a relative to help you.

Or you can try reading the link I provided again. There are lots of pictures to help you follow along.
LINK <------CLICKY CLICKY

Me comparing my race time slips to your Vajunk time slips is irrelevant. It has no bearing on what the original poster was asking about....but of course you didn't understand the question.

Now now children. The OP took his Vararam apart and could not find any problems so he wants info on prevention. I had a Vararam on my car for years and I told him how to deal with it. Case closed. Main thing is that you should have a fair amount of experience working on cars before installing anything like this.

Some of you guys argue so much. If you don't like Vararam don't buy it. If you want to go the fastest, buy it and be a man and deal with it. I had one and checked it regularly with no problems at all other than slight bowing. I had more problems with MTI's clear lid cracking on my 99 SS.

Best post so far If a person don't like it or don't want to do what it takes to make it work, there are many other ones to choose from ! I tried another brand, and the Vararam gave me better performance, not only faster, but more consistent..so I'll stay with it..

What about the people that DID buy it for good money and had problems, like Griffee? Are you suggesting they should just be a man and deal with it? In silence like some chump?

He got dirt in his engine, and there are enough others on this forum that have had the same thing happen. This happened to a friend of mine's VR too, and he knows WTF he is doing. That's one reason I don't have one, there are dozens of more on this forum.

Griffee has just as much right to post his view to the OP having problems as you who haven't.

Yeah...gotcha....right-o....warping plastic.....shifting seals equals poor installation from the mechanically challenged. I love that excuse for the Vajunk. It's my personal favorite!!

of course gary can post what ever he wants, and use any name he wants so can you, the fact is i put mine in in dec 2005 and have never changed the seals on the original. vararam sent me a new one that i didn't even ask for with an extra set of seals which i gave to ls1lt1, and they sent me a new one for my record quest with extra filter and seals that i have never used, i must have installed it right and your friend doesn't no what hes doing, i have had it in with the spacer, without the spacer with the accordion coupler and without. with pep boys smooth couplers, it doesn't leak it doesn't hit my hood liner and it doesn't go slow it is a simple mod that works, sometimes mods for performance and after market parts are not a simple bolt on application you have to make some modifications, and for any body claiming to know what their doing and cant even seal up a simple two pieces of plastic with a filter when the only part that really needs sealed is the one side of the filter to the upper housing, is an idiot, and surely doesn't no what their doing

Not sure who Gary is, is he the guy posting nothing useful to the OP on a Vararam question thread except for whining and not manning up about the MTI clear lid on his 99 SS? He must've installed it wrong.

I guess you're just so much smarter and more mechanically inclined than everyone else who's had a problem with this marvel of the track. Sounds like if they really knew what they were doing they could challange you for the fastest bolt on, taped on, glued on, extra screwed on track record.

How many times in the past did someone reading these threads go out and check to find...ta da...that their modern wonder of science that defies the laws of physics was also sucking dirt? Must be because they're all idiots according to the guy who got a free VR from Vararam right?

I also haven't heard of too many others getting a new VR, maybe only some foam storm door sealing tape to hold the filter in.

Sounds like these threads pointing out this 'challanging installation problem' are a lot more useful to people than those that tell people they "must've installed it wrong", and to get that extra 1/100 of a second of at the track they have to man up and not complain about the $500 they spent on this so-called Air Filter.

I can't speak for any others, but I also had mine warp & I just called them (Vararam) and explained what happened, & I was told they would ship me the needed parts to correct it with heavier gage plastic...

I "WILL" reply here just as a "Heads Up" to let you guys know what kind of customer service I get...

I would just move on personally. Nothing comes from these rants, we all know this. Everyone can post a 1000 threads and it won't remove one single grain of sand out of an engine that a Vararam leaked by the seal. How much time has to be wasted by telling the same story over and over and over and over?

We get it, the plastic bows and if you're not on top of it, you can get dirt and leaves sucked in. Take the risk or move on. Just breath people, nothing to see here.

Hey, FWIW I will have my 08 LS3 M6 delivered here in the next 2 days and it is equiped with a Honker. I am installing a Vararam so anyone with an LS2 or LS3 who has a Vararm and wants to swap for a Honker straight up, shoot me a PM. Serriously. I can use my Callaway MAF if you have an LS2 Vararam or I can swap out the whole thing if you have the LS3 Vararm. Let me know.

Jay

I think good does come from these threads. A) It lets potential buyers know, "Just watch the darn thing". B) It makes those who had know idea of there being a problem go out and check it.

If this thread or any more in the future like it help one person not eat dirt it's worth it.

As an added bonus we get a bunch of funnies to read along the way

Doesn't it bother you that your "record breaking" car would get beat up by a bunch of pick up trucks over at JDM?

As long as you brought up TRUCKS... here is my friends "TRUCK...yes it is a DIESEL engine, and at the track is is a "Legal" truck the fiberglass body had a 18" bed in the rear!

It has gone well into the 8 sec. zone!
