Default Clutch Pedal Stop

I have pedal to the floor due to the increased power level. Same thing happened when I put a supercharger on my C5. I'm well aware of Ranger's fluid changing technique. I'm a proponent of it and practice it regularly. I'm stil convinced that overextending the pressure plate fingers contributes greatly to the pedal to the floor syndrome and am interested to see what a stop does to stave off the syndrome.

Chuckster put a stop from Carolina clutch on his c5 with success a long time ago but it never seemed to take off as a mod to stop/inhibit pedal to the floor.

Also, Hoonose used a sliding window track stop he said he got from True Value hardware for $.50!

Default Diy

I decided to go about making my own and it works quite well. I drilled and tapped the tab in the clutch pedal arm with a 3/8 16 thread and welded (if you can call it that) up an adjustable stop. It's not pretty, I used my gassless flux core MIG without taking much care. But it's not going anywhere and it's not something that will ever be seen. I am a little concerned that its using the plastic clutch inhibit switch as a positive stop but we'll see if it turns out to be a problem.

It does not, however, seem to have done much if anything for my pedal-to-the-floor syndrome. I'll change my clutch fluid (haven't done that in a while) and see if it stays away after that.

You still on here? Lol I know this is from agile back but did this work for you? Did you have it going to the floor or to the safety switch?

I installed one of these from Lingenfelter and think it's great, but needs a rubber face on the stop. I don't care for the metal to metal contact sound. I haven't found a suitable material to glue or fasten on the stop.
