I've seen on here about people adding NPP to their 08's. What is needed other then the mufflers to add NPP to an 08 that didn't come with NPP so it works just like factory.
I'm not interested in just a mild to wild switch. I want the mufflers to function just like a car that came with NPP from the factory. How simple or not is this install and what is needed?
I did it on my 2006 and it wass't bad, the worst is getting the fitting on the back of the intake to break loose so you can install the vaccum line. then getting the vaccum line routed to the back of the car is tricky with nothing to zip tie it to..
I used Sunset Orange's controller since you can trigger the flaps to open at a preset RPM (you select what rpm, 1800-8000rpm, I used 3000). And since he has now come out with the LEAR Car2U system controller, you do not need a fob or other installed switch to open the flaps on demand..Just hit the garage opener button..
Running the vacuum line is a pain, I used an exacto knife duct taped to a nut driver to pop the vacuum Tee off the back of the manifold. Routing the lines under the car took about an hour..Installing the electronics was the easy part. If you need some help or get stuck you are welcome to PM me.

Thanks in advance.
That's a tough question. I haven't heard of anyone doing that. Adding an NPP with aftermarket controller is a piece of cake. You want to say that it can't be that tough. But, it just might be. Good luck with it, and let folks know how you did it.
I added NPP to my 08 vert yesterday with the npp in the box kit from "LEEA Customs Inc." <leeacustoms@optonline.net . I thought it would operate like the OEM car npp, it does not, it only woks with a remote either open or closed. If you find a way to do it like it comes from the factory , opening at rpm level, let me know.
THanks
George

My Exhaust Commanderr All-in1 NPP retrofit kit has the ability to operate exactly like a factory npp car when it is ordered with the user selectable rpm opening option.
When you have the user selectable rpm opening option you get to choose an rpm at which the butterflies will open automatically. You get three modes: full open, full closed, and user selectable rpm opening.
You also have the available option to open and close the butterflies using your dash DIC reset button, or now using your Lear car2u universal visor.

I feel I offer a technologically advanced npp retrofit kit that has many exciting options available.
Feel free to pm or email anytime.
