Default Question on spacers

I have recently put spacers on my rear wheels. I have a set of light repros that seem a little sunken in. I added a 5/16 spacer and it took care of that.

Is this safe to run on the street for daily driving?

Do I NEED to add the longer bolts to the hub?

Will this throw off the allignment?

Thanks fellas!

Default No Problem!

I have 4mm spacers on the front and have NOT experienced any problems whatsoever. If you call Pfadt and question them I am sure they will set the record straight.

I am going to get my car alligned and wonder if the spacers will throw it off as I switch wheels to my oem often. Should I get my car alligned with them on or without the spacers on? My oe set of heels have a slightly different off set. is alligned alligned?

Make sure you have 'hub centric' spacers (like CCW sells) that won't cause any imbalance to the wheel. I've seen some spacers with huge square holes (for the studs to go through) I'd throw in the garbage. Longer studs may be advisable but supposedly, as long as you have 7 revolutions with the lug nut on the stud you're OK. That said I feel better being able to thread the lug nut completely onto the stud. I've run road courses for years using front spacers and even with the rigors of track use I've never had a problem (some Porsche's used to come from the factory with "hun extenders").

If you want, you can also bolt (countersunk) the spacers right onto your wheels.

They are universal spacers. By Mr Gasket. I may replace them In the future if it's recomended. They may throw off my balance but I haven't felt it. I wanted to know if they will affect my allignment.

I can't see how they'd affect the alingment all things being equal. You're only moving the wheel outward. That said I'd also advise a hub-centric spacer and CCW would be who I'd call. John will gvie you an honest answer.

You may also want to give Pfadt a call. They will fill you in. Oh - I already said that.

I had the mr. gasket universal 5/16ths spacers on the rears with no vibration. I just changed to the 1/4 pfadt in the rear and added 1/8ths in the front. Now I notice a slight vibration similar to before removing my tinnerman nuts.

These spacers are supposed to be better aren't they? How can I fix the vibration ?

ttt

The PFADTs are suposed to be hub-centric etc.. I installed them tightening the bolts on oposite sides a little at a time back aand forth. This is the best way to make sure they are centered right??

If you are concerned about the number of thread engagement, get extended-tip lug nuts. Almost any Discount Tire sells this.
