Default "Burnt" Headers... (pics)

I had my headers Jet-coated, and they looked really nice (almost chrome).... I noticed after I got my car tuned that there are oval shaped areas on each tube, probably from getting really hot during the tune...

Probably a stupid question, but is there any way to get them looking the way they did before, or am I just going to have to deal with it. Heres some pics, but not sure if you can see what im talking about....

mine dont have the luster they did before install but they dont have the burnt ovals like that either. They are consistent silver like the non burnt portions of your headers.

Headers are metal. Metal discolors when it gets hot.

That's hardly anything to worry about man. They look great as is. You should see my "stainless" uncoated headers.

put some more driving time and the top half of all the coated tubes will fade somewhat equally and look more uniform but unfortunatly not on the shiny side.
ask me how I know...

It looks like the headers got quite hot causing the "burned" areas. If you really want them all the same color again, I think your only option would be to have them recoated.

Are they coated on the inside also? This really helps them stay nice longer. Here are mine with 5K on them.
