Think it is time for a new clutch. Waiting on verification. People swear up and down on the RPS clutch. If I go that route I am not sure exactly which one I should get. I drive my car 75% of the time as my daily and my truck the other 25%. I want a clutch that won't be so ON OFF but yet hold up at the drag strip much better than the clutch I have now did if it is truly my clutch that is bad. Any input would be appreciated. Mods and power are in my sig if you want to base it off of that. Also I have the aluminum flywheel. Not sure if I should stick with it or go steel.
I'm a big fan of the stock clutch...my buddies and I have had incredible luck with it...I've got 319 5-6k launches on mine. But you've got more power than me, I guess it wouldn't work for you.
I know Mitch (RattG) on the board has a RPS twin in his Z06 that runs 9's....watching him launch off the rev limiter and getting 1.3's last winter at PBIR was a pretty good testament to the clutch. You might PM him and ask him how he likes it. Or maybe he posted on it, I don't recall.

I check my clutch fluid religously. It isn't that. Since I went to the track the car won't go in reverse unless it is turned off. That is only way I can back up. Sometimes it is a pain in the butt to get in 1st gear. Other gears aren't smooth going in either. I tried to drive the car to clean the clutch disk. Didn't help. And my clutch engage disenage is not like it used to be. It is further towards the floor. Doesnt feel normal.
My guess is you might have warped the floater plate, since it's engaging earlier and not going into gear cleanly. Does it creep forward if you rev it up in gear? What were you launching it at on Sun? The RPS is in the fastest c6z's, but I know of a few that are quick w/ the ram twin organic(a cheaper alternative). I've personally driven a cammed c6z with one and it could be slipped and wasn't on/off (Carlos from QM also runs it)

yea it creaps forward...not launching hard at all...no more than 3500...just have to see exactly what it is...hope to know soon since i dropped off the car today
The street twin carbon would be the clutch you are looking for if you with an RPS unit. We install many RPS clutches and they have by far been the best on the C6's. Give us a call as we gaurantee the lowest price on them.
I don't know the rest of the circumstances surrounding your situation, but considering the symptoms you posted here, it's possible that the transmission is nearly shot. I had a fairly new clutch in the car still when mine started to exhibit the same traits, i.e. not wanting to engage in 1st, and needing to be shut off half the time to go in Reverse. I ended up wedging the tranny in 2nd gear due to a broken part, and when it came out and was opened up, it was made clear just how shot all the synchros were, and there were teeth almost completely sheared off both of those gears, while 2/3 were chewed up fairly bad.
Tranny was rebuilt and after we got it back in the car, it's back to normal. Same clutch, no changes. Although I'm sure I'm slowly losing a master cylinder, which is causing the clutch to not completely disengage, subsequently causing extra wear on the tranny when shifting. I think it helped to facilitate the original problem with the tranny.
i will have clutch and car back tomorrow...yeppie!!!!!!if anyone knows how to install the lingenfelter 2 step let me know...i am in dallas and could use some help...haha
my clutch still has firm peddle feel but a few days ago i checked the fluid and it was nearly empty and dark black not clear. Now i get a grinding noise when going into first and reverse.I have 80,000 miles and the dealer says i need a new clutch. Is it time for a new clutch? And also could it be that i just need a new clutch slave

Since your car is a daily driver I would highly recommend the LS9X clutch. It drives like an OEM clutch (because it is) and can hold the torque you're making and then some. The pedal is light and it also improves shifting.

I recommend you read Rangers fluid swapping threaddsp300c: So you gotta break the clutch back in? Because Saturday is looking good for Crandall!
