I have a basically stock (a few bolt ons) C5 that I use for bracket racing. My dyno sheet shows are marked "dip" between 5 and 6k. I comes back up to normal after a few hundred rpm. My tuner thinks it may be weak valve springs causing float. I don't notice any power drop on top end.
Do I need stronger valve springs and if so what kind do I need? I don't plan on changing the cam. I heard GM makes a stronger spring that was installed on the LS2 engines.
Thats was my next question. Do I need new valve seals? Or is that what you mean by "seat". Is there a good "how to" for doing it with the heads on and what tool to use?

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have a brand new set with locks and retainers I'm pulling off a set of new heads because I'm going to run a cam bigger than 600 lift.
You can swap them in the car. You just need this tool:
don't tell him that! he needs more than that to do the job! he does'nt even know what a valve "seat" is, you'll have him dropping the valve's into the cylinders
