I would like to get opinions as to the first mod to get. I have a 2008 stock vette with 9000 miles on it. NICE!!!!!!!! Would a chip be worth it. This is a everyday driver also so I can not go too loud on the exhaust as the drone would get annoying.
Are you talking performance or appearance? Tune usually follows headers and CAI. Tune by itself is a waste of money since it will cost $500 and will only gain you around 12hp which you will not notice.

Chuck CoW is offering his $199 tune right now...
People swear by his tune, and I don't think he's giving them each $50 to post positive threads about his tune, so he must be doing something right

vararam, stat and a cow tune that is sale right now. the best way to go, you will be shocked at the performance gains and you will need surgery to remove the grin
Vararam cold air intake is a good first mod to a C6. Great gains for the dollar.
I like the idea of the cold air intake but I live in South Florida and I hear of alot of problem with it sucking up water. I was told to just drop a K & N in the box. A tune would be nice. I heard there was a plug and play one you can buy. I believe it is called the diablo chip. What do you all think?

you will not suck up water unless you drive your car into a deep puddle. But who really drives there vette into a puddle?? I drive my vette everyday as my daily driver, rain or shine i take it. NEVER have a found a puddle that was deep enough to get to the intake, and if i did more then the intake would get water in it lol.

Lot's of issues with Vararam. We take them off peoples cars all the time and install something else. I picked up 18 RWHP and 17 RWTQ with the K&N setup.
Street tunes and mail order tunes are subjective. I call them placebo tunes because you don't know for sure whether you really gained something or if it is mostly in your head. If I told you you got a tune and you drove your car, you would swear it was faster just because it is in your head. If you are going to tune it, take it to a dyno and get some before and after numbers.
Get the throttle body ported for $150. Makes the LS3 feel much more responsive and sporty. If its a base model then get the Z51 bars with the new (metal) end links and better shocks. All of these are relatively cheap and make a big difference in the personality of the car.

The tune is the best mod you can make and will be the CHEAPEST mod that delivers the most BANG FOR THE BUCK!
They say the 4.10's make you feel like you've done alot more with the SOTP feeling. I've been eyeing the 4.10's for a while myself and probably in the cards.
