Default Eureka!!

My 3LT seats are now in my 1LT car. Thanks to those who provided suggestions and input.

In order to make the 3LT seats function they have to have a reference voltage that is normally supplied to the memory module. At this time I'm not using the memory module, but the voltage still needs to be there. On my 05 seats that voltage had to go to pin B3 (small red/white). Once I had 12V + there I had basic seat functions. To get the lumbar and bolsters to work I spliced into the switch harness and found the small red/white feeding the switch. That wire goes from red/white to solid dark blue on the other side of the connector on the switch side. I ran a wire from the large red/white feeding the main seat motor circuit to the small red/white at the switch and now have full lumbar and side bolster function.

The seat heaters will take more time. I need to get the switch and connectors for the OEM look I want. The original circuit has two heating positions, low and high. Normally this would be done by switching in two resistors of different values, but I think someone here said it actually goes through the HVAC system. If that is true, I'll just Radio Shack a couple appropriately-sized resistors and bypass the HVAC.

The passenger seat will take a trip to a salvage yard to get the harness, as there is no harness on that side in a 1LT car. I don't see this as much of an issue, as the passenger seat did not have memory and shouldn't need a second, reference voltage.

I hope this helps others who are thinking about doing the same thing. The basic wiring seems to be the same for all years, at least from 05 to 07, although I think the reference voltage on the one diagram I had showed it going into B1, whereas mine went into B3. Not a big deal, but I had to spend some time chasing things down so I didn't set the seats on fire.

Thanks. I know others were waiting for some solid answers, but I couldn't get any except for the excellent post by kawal, but that was on the passenger seat. One poster said that the memory module needed to be powered up, and I was able to use the wiring diagram on kawal's post to sort things out. The pinouts seemed to be a bit different, but are mostly the same.

I may not be smart, but I am persistent!
