Default Catback vs. Axleback ???

Catback vs. axleback........what's the difference.

If I buy an axleback exhaust, is anything else needed to connect it to the cat. converter?

Thanks.

An axleback exhaust will bolt right in front of the rear diff. It should bolt in place of the stock axleback without modifications.

cat back will replace the stock h-pipe with an x-pipe.

Ok.

Thank you. I'm learning

So when looking to buy a full exhaust, if I buy headers with hi-flow ehxuast, and an Xpipe....then I should be looking for an axle back exhaust....not a cat back exhaust...right?

Is this how it flows: Headers to cats to xpipe to mufflers?

Bare with my learning curve.....

Default x-pipe

You got the order right.

My question is, does the base 2008 come stock with the X pipe or is it the H pipe? I was under there a few days ago and it sure looked like a X to me.

Cat back is exactly as it states, from the catalytic convertors back. The problem is that many Vendors (and lots of private sellers) either don't know or intentionally lie and call their axlebacks a catback.

Stock C6 exhaust is in 7 pieces, L & R manifolds (or headers), L & R cats, a mid pipe and L & R overaxle pipes w/mufflers and tips.
