Default New wheels!

I'm am very excited to announce that my first modification to my 2008 C6 "Z51" will be rims and tires.

After thinking hard on it the other day I decided that I can't go wrong with a nice set of wheels and some extra rubber on the ground.

So - That being said, I am asking for everyones help here. Any links for nice wheels for my c6 would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm looking for the correct off-sets to sit as wide as possible with no rubbing. I read some where that a 305 is the widest I can go without complication. So the correct tire sizes would help as well, I want the most aggressive look I can get (with no rubbing issues)... I plan on dropping the car about an inch?

Any info/feedback would be great!

Mike

Check out CCW's styles, there are quite a few that look awesome. They are forged, lightweight and they have outstanding quality and service as well as being masters of getting the correct offset. They are also very reasonable.

you can get some killer rims at half the cost in the parts section.. $2.5K-3K is a lot better than 5K+ for rims.. 265\35's up front and 305\30's in the back!

If youre looking into a 500rwhp build as per your PM, you should ditch the 19" rear and get a good 18" r-compound or the car will not hook.

An 18" 305/35/18 Mickey Thompson will get you the ability to hook with over 500rwtq in 1st.

A 305/35 18 Nitto 555R2 will hook in 1st with about 450rwhp and gears.

A 19" is bling.

If its your daily driver with rain tires needed, you will not be near 500rwhp/450rwtq for traction with any size tire but the car will fit up to a 325 width on the rear. A 325 street tire wont even hook 1/2 as good as a 275 mickey thompson.

I would hold off on this mod until you see what kind of power level you will have. The stock 19" rear can be widened to 11" for use with a 325 tire. You will see there is nearly no improvement in traction.

I was in forum member Hoffie's car with 425rwhp/405rwtq with stock gears and it didnt hook with Z06 wheels and 325/19 tires in first or second.

Very good info!! So I should make some power first, then come up with a tire solution after.

Noted.

Thanks Spin.

I think you need about 625HP at the flywheel to get 500HP at the wheels.
